Sticky buns - a sweet roll of dough that tastes best when stuffed with cinnamon.
My definition - sticky buns are when you're wearing something short (i.e. short shorts, a mini skirt, or a short dress) and feel your thighs sticking to each other and the chair you're sitting on. (Side note: I thought of this concept when I decided to wear a button down skirt to class a few months ago, and could feel my thighs sticking to the plastic chair. I know, I'm a genius).
Women put themselves through sticky buns to:
a) Stay fashionable
"Suns out, buns out," said the Instagram caption of every Victoria's Secret model ever. But if you're not a VS. model, how much bum is too much bum? If you ask Kim K. you can never have too much ass, and she's one of the most successful women in America, so she knows what's up. Generally speaking, legs-for-days are in for spring/summer, so as long as you're covering the cheeks, it's worth giving it a try.
b) Feel a breeze between their thighs
One of the benefits of short clothing is that you can let your thighs be free. Most of the year, you're trapped in long clothing that just doesn't give you the same level of flexibility. So each year when the warm weather arrives, it's clear that holding down your skirt from a Marilyn Monroe moment is worth the breeze.
c) Show off their legs
If you've got it, flaunt it and if you don't got it, still flaunt it, but not in a show-your-butt-cheeks-from-under-your-shorts way. Instead, choose shorts that make you feel comfortable, and show off your legs that are dying for sun exposure after being caged during the winter months.
Going through sticky buns is just part of the summer equation. Thankfully most of us value the positives of shorts more than the one sweaty issue.
