Ready to shop for groceries.
The days of tacky leopard print are far behind us, and the 70's 'it' print is becoming a major street style staple.
With the rise of more is more fashion, it seems only logical that this trend would make a reappearance. But, of course, there are some women who have always kept this trend alive. These are the women of the Russian Deli, and I admire them for knowing that maximalist looks are in fact timeless.
I usually avoid the deli because of the judgemental stares from these same women, but last week I decided to join my mom on her weekly trip (for some investigative fashion of course). The outing didn't teach me anything new, it just reaffirmed the fact that the Russian women at the deli dress for themselves, and wear whatever they please, as long as it follows the more is more principal.
So, taking a cue from their confident looks, I pulled out my leopard coat, and put together my own outfit. I started off with a leather skirt because leather has the ability to structure an outfit in a cool way, which makes me feel casino ready. Then, I added a white blouse. It's neutral enough not to distract from the coat, but the ruffles give the look movement, which can make you appear extremely stylish pushing a shopping cart. I accessorized with a vintage purse, and booties because…well, more is more.
Blouse - GUESS. Skirt - Express. Coat - (faux fur, don't worry).
